29 companies including Serum Institute of India in race to make monkeypox vaccine in the country

New Delhi. 29 companies have been shortlisted to make the vaccine for Monkeypox Case In India in the country. This has increased the hope of people getting the monkeypox vaccine. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in collaboration with the National Institute of Virology (NIV-Pune) has shortlisted 29 pharma companies to develop vaccines and diagnostic kits. However, shortlisting 29 companies does not mean that all companies will make the vaccine. The final decision will be taken after verification of documents.

Like Corona, now there is a competition between two big famous companies of the country regarding the vaccine for monkeypox. Applications have been received from Serum Institute of India, Biological E, Haffkine Institute, Mumbai and Indian Immunological Institute. According to ICMR, a total of 31 applications have been received from pharma companies. In the last meeting of ICMR, 29 applications have been shortlisted. 8 pharma companies of the country have also sent applications to ICMR, while 23 companies have shown interest in making testing kits.

10 patients of monkeypox in the country so far
So far 10 patients of monkeypox have been found in India. Five patients of monkeypox have been found in Delhi itself. The first case of monkeypox in the country was reported on July 14 in Kollam district of Kerala. So far one patient has died due to Mancopox in India. America and Europe have the highest number of cases of this disease worldwide. More than 31,000 cases of monkeypox have been reported globally this year in more than 80 countries.

Giving information about the monkeypox virus, the Union Health Ministry has said that the person infected with it has high fever, skin rashes (starting from the face to the hands, feet, palms and soles). Headache, muscle pain or tiredness, sore throat and cough are the main symptoms of a person infected with monkeypox virus.
