New Delhi: The Flipkart Group has appointed Nandita Sinha, CEO of Myntra, to lead Flipkart Fashion in addition to her current role at Myntra, after the departure of vice-president Arief Mohamad, who formerly headed Flipkart Fashion.
In a statement released on Friday, a spokesperson for the Flipkart Group said, “The fashion industry is constantly evolving, and we are dedicated to enhancing the customer experience for our fashion-savvy audience. Nandita Sinha, CEO of Myntra, will now take on the added responsibility of leading Flipkart Fashion alongside her existing role at Myntra. As a seasoned leader and a key figure in the group, she has played a crucial role in advancing various businesses within the Flipkart ecosystem.”
Despite Nandita Sinha’s new role, both Myntra and Flipkart Fashion will operate independently.
Nandita Sinha assumed the role of Myntra CEO in January 2022 and has helped solidify Myntra’s position in the fashion industry. The company stated, “Under her leadership, Myntra has made significant strides in the fashion market and is well-positioned for future growth. Both Flipkart Fashion and Myntra will continue under Nandita’s guidance as she drives the strategic direction for the fashion sector.”
Nandita Sinha joined Myntra as CEO on 1 January 2022, coming from Flipkart where she held the position of vice-president, customer growth and marketing.
The Walmart-backed Flipkart Group comprises various digital commerce entities such as Flipkart, Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Flipkart Health+, and Cleartrip. Founded in 2007 by Mukesh Bansal, Vineet Saxena, and Ashutosh Lawania, Myntra hosts a wide range of over 6,000 fashion and lifestyle brands including popular names like H&M, Levi’s, U.S. Polo Assn, Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Philippe, MANGO, Forever 21, and Marks & Spencer.
With nationwide delivery to over 19,000 pin codes, Myntra reported a revenue from operations of ₹4,375.3 crore in FY23, alongside a loss of ₹782 crore in the same period as per data from Tofler.
