Brown powers through injury to compete for teenage medal

Team GB skateboarder Sky Brown has received the green light to compete in the Olympics after overcoming a dislocated shoulder. The 16-year-old, who clinched a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games, sustained the injury just before her journey to Paris.

After being thoroughly examined by Team GB medical professionals, Brown has been given the all-clear to participate in the Paris event. Despite the scary incident, she remains optimistic and determined to give her best performance.

In her own words, Brown shared, “This was quite a scary experience, with my shoulder dislocating and struggling to pop it back in. However, with the help of my dad, it’s back in place. I will need surgery once I return to prevent future mishaps. Braces are on the way, and I’ll have to skate with straps for added support.”

With a spirit of resilience and positivity, Brown encourages others by saying, “What doesn’t break you, makes you stronger – as cliché as it may sound.”
