Colin Jost Thrives as Olympics Gig Concludes: Injuries Can’t Slow Him!

Colin Jost bids goodbye to his 2024 Olympics gig due to injuries after his time in Tahiti took a toll on his health. The comedian from “Saturday Night Live” stepped down from his surfing correspondent role before the events in French Polynesia concluded. Luke Bradnam, an Australian weatherman, took over for Jost as per NBC’s request.

Jost extended his stay in Tahiti, causing delays in the surfing competition due to adverse weather conditions. Despite the setbacks, NBC praised Jost’s coverage in Tahiti and mentioned that he had a great time during his assignment. Unfortunately, his time in the popular vacation spot was marred by injuries.

During his duty as an Olympics correspondent, Jost injured his left foot on the island’s coral reefs. He jokingly shared on Instagram that he visited the Olympic medical tent more than the athletes. His foot became infected, and he also struggled with an ear infection. Despite his health issues, it’s unclear if they contributed to his sudden departure from the Olympics post.

France is leading in the total medal count for surfing at the 2024 Olympics with four medals. The US has earned two medals, including a gold by surfer Caroline Marks. The star-studded 2024 Olympic Games will wrap up with the closing ceremony on Sunday at the Stade de France.
